about how much I love being a homemaker. All the young women out there who are angry about cleaning the house or tending the children are missing the point. It is a privilege to be counted among those who get to stay home and raise their own children, turn their homes into snug inviting little palaces, and become the CEO/CFO of a wonderful company. My little company feeds, clothes, and cares for very few these days. In days gone by, it was responsible for the happiness of five plus two children and a wonderful man. Sadly, in those days I felt rather overworked and didn't understand the blessings of being a SAHM/W. I was so wrapped up in myself and my self-pity, that I let wonderful opportunities go to waste. Never Again!
I love to polish the dining room table to a glow and arrange a vase of flowers for the bedroom. I love to sew a quilt for a new grandchild or a new skirt to wear. I love to cook a delicious meal for my husband and keep everything sweet smelling and in apple pie order. I love to compose these writings with my daughters and future daughters-in-law in mind. I love thinking of little gifts to send to my grandchildren. I love praying for my family everyday.
It is a blessing to be able to stay home with one's children. It sometimes doesn't feel that way when you have a screaming two-year-old all day or a hungry new-born at 2am....but it is a blessing. Thanks for reminding us all that we need to look for the blessings in our life and focus on the good.
