What Spices and Sweetens My Life?

Outside My Window...I see a sunny glorious spring day. Will it last? Only time will tell.

I am thinking...of my new little granddaughter, Clair Louis Bruner. This makes seven grandchildren. I love each of them even though I don't get to see them often. I wonder what this new one will be like.

I am thankful for...the lessons God is teaching me. Even though I'm not thrilled by the method of instruction, I am grateful for the new vistas.

From the kitchen...I made my quick stove top mac & cheese with green beans and applesauce for lunch. Although it's only a poor man's meal, it's not too bad. Before Kraft, M&C was a nutritious meal. I don't use the blue box but make it with whole wheat elbow noodles, real cheddar cheese, and milk. Of course we can't forget the secret ingredients. But you'll have to write me if you want the whole recipe.

I am wearing...My flower skirt, a long sleeve white t-shirt, tights, and brown clogs in my mind. In reality I just climbed out of my old favorite flannel nightgown and into an old pair of jeans and a flowered shirt. I look and feel hideous.

I am creating...a blessing outfit for Quinn. It's to be a sailor romper with long legs and sleeves--white of course!

I am going...to Springville again tomorrow to help Emily. She is having a slow recovery this time. I'm so glad I'm in a position to be there for her.

I am reading...many books. Today I started re-reading Jesus the Christ. It's such a wonderful book. Thanks for recommending it for book group Belinda. I love to read classics from history, economics, government, geography, literature, and science.

I am hoping...to have a good burst of energy for tomorrow's travel and work.

I am hearing...Spencer typing beside me on his computer. I'll miss him, when he goes away. Children must grow up, but why does it happen so fast. I'm not ready to have an empty home.

Around the house...the daffodils are poking up their heads. I can't wait to see my cheerful, yellow friends, signaling the end of winter.

One of my favorite things...is studying Spanish elusive as it is. Just when I think it is within my grasp, it flies out of my head again like math. I will conquer it someday. I read the Book of Mormon on Polyglot most days. I'm studying Madrigal's Magic Key to Spanish, which is the best program I've ever used. I listen/read El Leon, la Bruha, y el Ropero often. I'm not sure I'll ever speak at the speed of the reader any time soon. Since I'm in no hurry, I'll just keep on and see if I gain a little success with it.

A moment to claim for myself...I'll have a little nap. Adjusting to Daylight Savings Time is hard for me. I'm such a creature of habit.
Check back next Wednesday for more spice and sweetness.

Reading the scriptures and keeping this journal are my delight. I do not keep an online journal to preach to anyone but myself. I like this format, because I can add pictures and correct my writing easier. If you enjoy reading it, I am happy. If you feel offended, please, realize it is not my intention to offend but to teach myself. No negative comments will not be published.
