Outside My Window...the sun has just risen, while a sliver of moon remains.I Am Thinking...that I loved staying in the little cottage by the sea. Thank you Aunt Dean. But business calls. We'll be heading up to the Pacific North West to attend to business. Strangely it's growing by leaps and bounds and must be attended. Since I'm done raising children, I'm to be the receptionist and among other things.
I Am Thankful...for my family. I've learned many things in my time as a hands-on mother. Not only has patience been high on my list of acquired knowledge but also love. I've learned what real love is. I've also learned that my parents loved me very much. The most important lesson has been don't let what you cannot control control you.
I am reading...Food For Everyone. It's a fascinating gardening/botany course written to teach young people in developing nations how to produce fruits and vegetables to sustain their families and raise money. I've also been reading a lot of articles on bee keeping in developing nations. Some day I'd like to go on a humanitarian mission and teach these things. It's possible for a very poor family to raise all the fruits, veggies, honey, eggs, and chicken they need and some to sell on a very small piece of land. There may come a time when I need to know these things for my own family as well.
From My Kitchen...I enjoy home cooked meals. Monday we had a game night for our first empty nesters family home evening. I made taco salad--delicious. We had leftovers for lunch yesterday. After lunch some olives and cheese were left. For dinner I took those left overs, added some left over pea pods and chopped parsley, a couple eggs, milk, and sour cream--it turned into the best crust-less quiche ever. I love to use up left overs, making a brand new dish.
I Am Wearing...a nightgown I made last summer and bare feet. White with pink rosebuds, the seersucker fabric is so cool on warm nights. I finished it off with eyelet lace and pink rickrack. It's so feminine and cozy. I have to wear my hair in a braid at night now--I get so tangled up. I've got a French braid running down my neck.
I Am Creating...a new book and wrapping up a couple others. Since I'm studying botany so intensively, I'm beginning my first children's science book on botany. There are a lot of great homeschool curriculum out there so it probably won't be in demand. Although I intend to offer it as a free download on an acquaintance's web school.
I Am Going...to for several weeks soon. I'll be glad to see my friend, Marlena. A few weeks ago, they had a terrible accident involving a lawn mower and their two year old son. Please, please, be careful with your little ones this summer.
I Am Hoping...that all my daughters and their new babies will continue to grow in health.
I Am Hearing...golden sound of silence at this early hour.
Around The House...I'm working on finishing the weeding before we leave on Saturday. I've filled our huge garbage can and two smaller ones with all my work of trimming and weeding.
One Of My Favorite Things...is order. I love a house and garden where there is a place for everything and everything in its place.
God's Hand...is evident in my life. My health is so much better. My sea cure and promises I re-learned in the temple in San Diego have changed my whole direction. I'm still moving a bit slowly, but I'm breathing better, eating better, sleeping better, thinking better, and living a happier life. God loves me. At this time, He wants me to live for reasons I don't yet understand. I'm game for a new adventure. Open the door and see what's outside.
I love you mom!
