It is my belief that God understands human nature and can help us with any problem. I also think that if we study the scriptures prayerfully, we can quit buying self-help books. God has answered all the questions if we are careful enough to listen. Schools around the world suffer from inadequate teaching and learning. God has given some of the answers right here."Appoint among yourselves a teacher, and let not all be spokesmen at once; but let one speak at a time and let all listen unto his sayings, that when all have spoken that all may be edified of all, and that every man may have an equal privilege. See that ye love one another; cease to be covetous; learn to impart one to another as the gospel requires. Cease to be idle; cease to be unclean; cease to find fault one with another; cease to sleep longer than is needful; retire to thy bed early, that ye may not be weary; arise early, that your bodies and your minds may be invigorated. And above all things, clothe yourselves with the bond of charity, as with a mantle, which is the bond of perfectness and peace." Doctrine and Covenants 88:122-125
1. Don't talk over each other--be good listeners. (Habits and manners)
2. Have discussion with everyone getting a chance to speak his mind on the topic. (narration and discussion)
3. Learn together with love. (respect)
4. Don't covet another's gifts. (Some are more gifted intellectually than others, and that's alright.)
5. Share your knowledge. (Teachers and more intellectually inclined students should be patient and willing teachers.)
6. Get enough sleep so that you can contribute intelligently.
7. Don't be lazy.
8. As with any other human interaction, filter all your words and deeds through charity. (think before you speak--use a quiet voice--let love shine through your eyes--give the benefit of a doubt)
I homeschooled for many years and learned by trial and error the truth of this scripture. How much more effective our school would have been if I had learned God's counsel for school in the beginning. This is a testament for daily study.

Reading the scriptures and keeping this journal are my delight. I do not keep an online journal to preach to anyone but myself. I like this format, because I can add pictures and correct my writing easier. If you enjoy reading it, I am happy. If you feel offended, please, realize it is not my intention to offend but to teach myself. No negative comments will not be published.
