Paradigm Shift

doodles

I really love to draw, but this was not always so. As a child, I was convinced that I could not even draw a straight line. I could see things in my head but never reproduce them. With my vocation as a homeschool teacher, I was forced to give it another go. The teachers of my childhood were wrong. Perhaps I've no natural talent, but I have taught myself to draw tolerably well. Not great but not bad either. My doodles are more often than not little drawings now instead of scalloped lines as before.

I found new fodder for my self-teaching on this site. If you think you can't draw, you may want to read Drawing on the Right-Side of the Brain or nearly any other book on drawing. My first
successful venture was using the children's books, Drawing With Children and Draw-Write-Now.
If you've read The Country Diary of an Edwardian Lady, you might guess what I have in mind next.

  1. Looks good mom. I really like the flowers in the pot. The shading is really good.

Reading the scriptures and keeping this journal are my delight. I do not keep an online journal to preach to anyone but myself. I like this format, because I can add pictures and correct my writing easier. If you enjoy reading it, I am happy. If you feel offended, please, realize it is not my intention to offend but to teach myself. No negative comments will not be published.
