Paradigm Shift

“The list of health problems I think it would very hard to live with is SO much longer than the list of foods I previously thought I couldn’t live without,” Merrill Alley.

Bluest Blue-Journal #10

My outlook...resolved. I'll do the things I must and be happy doing them.

On my mind...hoping it will stay nice so I can take lunch at the boardwalk.

What's cooking in my kitchen...simple meals. Today I'll take chicken fried rice, egg flower soup, and salad in my picnic basket for a romantic dinner over tax files.

Prayer requests for the week ahead...I need a little help feeling delight over my new work.

My appearance today...navy pleated skirt, pastel pink 3/4 sleeved T, silk navy floral cardigan, black tights, and black privo mary janes.

Exercise goals...walking, the Firm, and Dr. Chan's stretches.

New and not so new on my bookshelf…LMU reading list, Dr. Mom by Sandra Ellis and Vaccines: Are They Really Safe and Effective? by Neil Z. Miller. I'm finishing up The Essays by Montaigne.

Blessings Last Week...time with my sweetheart and best friend...We got to see the Coles, who are the parents of Princess Gracie, a big, beautiful baby with scrumptious cheeks.

A Scripture passage I am meditating on..."Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the Lord is risen upon thee." Isaiah 60:1

Homemaking tasks this week...I'm in Pantry Principle area #4. On closer inspection, I've found that the lovely floor moulding has a great go of dust and needs my attention. I plan to make my way through the house this week cleaning up dust.

Something new to try...after last weeks' key lime disaster, I'm going to make something tried and true, possibly a lemon or chocolate cake.

My week is looking...different. I really just want to be a full-time homemaker, since I've learned to love this job so well. Nevertheless, duty calls me to help my husband for a season. The money we save this year will pay for Spencer's mission. The money we save next year, if I'm still doing this, will pay for my educational pursuits.

God has been teaching me...to let go a little and trust Him more.

For devotions...studying Cain and Able in Genesis this week. Of course my Spanish devotions remain in the Book of Mormon.

A simple pleasure...avocados on toast.

Commitment to loveliness...1) one nature drawing for my Country Diary of a Modern Christian Woman 2) Shubert's Standchen on the violin 3) write a letter to Aunty 4) send photo cards to grandkiddies 5) print new pictures to put in journal/scrapbook

Photo to share...this is a photo from my own camera documenting a lovely walk last week. Joseph and I stole an hour in this lovely setting. My, Seattle is the bluest blue and the greenest green, when the sun is shining.

Reading the scriptures and keeping this journal are my delight. I do not keep an online journal to preach to anyone but myself. I like this format, because I can add pictures and correct my writing easier. If you enjoy reading it, I am happy. If you feel offended, please, realize it is not my intention to offend but to teach myself. No negative comments will not be published.
