The Country Diary of an Edwardian Lady
I read it for the first time years ago and used it in our homeschool. During our homeschool years, I focused on what and if the children were learning. Were they learning to draw and love nature. Now it's time for a different approach~it's never too late to learn. I've been inspired to begin The Country Diary of A Modern Lady as part of my daily journal. Using this book as a guide, I'm seeking out poetry, drawing at least once a week, and recording weather observations. They remain hidden in my journal, since I'm not too good. But it gives me real pleasure sort of a spiritual high. My next step is watercolor with Botanical Illustration.
What are you doing to find beauty in your life?
Sounds wonderful! We are planning on drawing a lot in China! I am looking forward to finding a wonderful source of paper...the wonderful thin Chinese type! (Isn't it funny how we get pleasure out of something as simple as crinkly paper?)
ReplyDeleteI have had this book since I was a young girl myself... isn't it lovely? We have just started doing drawing from nature in our homeschool this year- incidentally by the encouragement of Lynn from A Mother's Journal, which is where I clicked on your name to find myself here!
ReplyDeleteMany blessings to you♥
