I decided to study an older conference talk this week from Joseph Worthlin called 3 choices.
1. "You can't go back and begin where you once were. But all is not lost. You can begin where you are now. Choose to begin your repentance now." In other words choose you this day, whom you will serve. Every day offers a new opportunity to choose to serve God.
2. "Learn to choose your priorities. You have to put first things first." We cannot learn to be a virtuoso violinist in a day. It takes a lifetime of practice and dedication, as does learning to live a productive and gospel-centered life.
3. "Choose the right. Study the scriptures and words of our prophet today. Apply these sacred teachings to your lives. Reach out to those in distress. Do what you can to relieve suffering and help others become self-reliant. As you do so the Lord will be well pleased with you."
As a follower of Jesus, I want to follow His command and do what is right. I do this, because I love Him and want to please Him. I do this, because He gave His commands to make me happy. I do not do this, because I think I can buy my way into heaven with good deeds the way a prison inmate buys early release with good behavior. I obey to please God, to serve His children, and to bring myself an added measure of joy. But I'm definitely a work in progress.

Reading the scriptures and keeping this journal are my delight. I do not keep an online journal to preach to anyone but myself. I like this format, because I can add pictures and correct my writing easier. If you enjoy reading it, I am happy. If you feel offended, please, realize it is not my intention to offend but to teach myself. No negative comments will not be published.
