1 Samuel 25 - 2 Samuel 10
These are very interesting chapters that show us Saul's sinful behaviour continued to bring him down and David's good choices continued to distinguish him. They also teach historical setting. We will see once again how a good and righteous man can be corrupted by power. Eli's sin was esteeming others over God. Saul's was revenge. Sadly, we will see David fall like those before him.
"Soon after David spared Saul’s life, Saul sought David’s life one more time. Again David had the opportunity to kill the king, but he refused to do so. Battles continued between the people of Judah and the surrounding nations, and Saul and Jonathan were killed in one of those battles. David succeeded Saul as king and became one of the greatest kings in the history of Israel. He united the tribes into one nation, secured possession of the land that had been promised to his people, and set up a government based on God’s law. The last 20 years of his life were marred by the sinful decisions ..." Old Testament Instructor's Manual

Reading the scriptures and keeping this journal are my delight. I do not keep an online journal to preach to anyone but myself. I like this format, because I can add pictures and correct my writing easier. If you enjoy reading it, I am happy. If you feel offended, please, realize it is not my intention to offend but to teach myself. No negative comments will not be published.
