The Erection of the Cross` by Rembrandt-Rembrandt placed himself in the painting to illustrate how directly we were responsible for the suffering of Jesus both in the Garden and on the Cross. Because of each sinful act in the world, He was lifted up and suffered greatly. However, we should use Rembrandt's subtle reminder not as a symbol of guilt but to practice gratitude and accept Jesus' atonement and grace. |
The blood that Jesus shed in the Garden and on the Cross pay for the sins of the world including mine. Because He was perfect, he had no debt of justice to pay. Subjecting Himself to the Will of the Father, he suffered in spirit, body, and soul to meet the demands of justice. These demands were satisfied with His blood.
"And lo, he shall suffer temptations, and pain of body, hunger, thirst, and fatigue, even more than man can suffer, except it be unto death; for behold, blood cometh from every pore, so great shall be his anguish for the wickedness and the abominations of his people." Mosiah 3:7
Jesus sacrifice, His blood make it possible for us to become pure and clean and enter the presence of the Father once more.
"That by reason of transgression cometh the fall, which fall bringeth death, and inasmuch as ye were born into the world by water, and blood, and the spirit, which I have made, and so became of dust a living soul, even so you must be born again into the kingdom of heaven , of water, and of the Spirit, and be cleansed by blood, even the blood of mine Only Begotten that ye might be sanctified from all sin, and enjoy the words of eternal life in the world, and eternal life in the world to come, even immortal glory, for y the water ye keep the commandment; by the Spirit ye are justified, and by the blood ye are sanctified." Moses 6:59-60

Reading the scriptures and keeping this journal are my delight. I do not keep an online journal to preach to anyone but myself. I like this format, because I can add pictures and correct my writing easier. If you enjoy reading it, I am happy. If you feel offended, please, realize it is not my intention to offend but to teach myself. No negative comments will not be published.
