Ruth and Naomi-Pieter Lastman 1583 – 1633
|
Since I'm unexpectedly traveling to pick up my inlaws, I'm departing somewhat from my current scripture study. The Book of Ruth has had a profound effect during my life on how I view the world and follow Jesus' commandment to love our neighbor. We have no closer neighbors than those in our family. Do we show love by kindness and service or contention and stubbornness? The former brings joy, while the latter chases away happiness.
We can refuse to become offended and seek to view others with God's eyes.
"And Ruth said, Intreat me not to leave thee, or following after thee: for whither thou goest, I will go; and where thou lodgest, I will lodge: thy people to return from
shall be my people, and thy God my God: Where thou diest, will I die, and there will I be buried: the Lord do so to me, and more also, if ought but death part thee and me." Ruth 1:16-17

Reading the scriptures and keeping this journal are my delight. I do not keep an online journal to preach to anyone but myself. I like this format, because I can add pictures and correct my writing easier. If you enjoy reading it, I am happy. If you feel offended, please, realize it is not my intention to offend but to teach myself. No negative comments will not be published.
