God of Miracles

Matthew 8:23-34; Mark 4:35-41, 5:1-20; Luke 8:22-39, 7:11-17

Jesus is a God of miracles, which often symbolize spiritual truths. Jesus calmed the sea and can bring us peace. Jesus cast out a legion of devils and can remove the influence of Satan from our lives. Jesus raised the young man from the dead and will raise us from the dead because of His Atonement.

Many insights can be gained from studying these miracles. The power of the devil and his angels is real but does not begin to match the power of Jesus. People can be and are possessed by the spirits of the devil's angels. They lose control of their actions mentally and physically, which is a foreshadowing of what to expect if we give up our second estate. Many who see miracles will not be converted by them, instead clinging to their worldly ways. God can and does intervene in temporal matters for His faithful servants. Like the disciples of old, we often do not exercise faith. Jesus is compassionate to the feelings of all but especially mourning mothers. The mortal body and spirit can be separated and united again, but they remain mortal. Not until the second coming of Jesus Christ and the resurrection of the dead will bodies and spirits be united in immortality.

Reading the scriptures and keeping this journal are my delight. I do not keep an online journal to preach to anyone but myself. I like this format, because I can add pictures and correct my writing easier. If you enjoy reading it, I am happy. If you feel offended, please, realize it is not my intention to offend but to teach myself. No negative comments will not be published.
