some great events

Some great events are coming up in my life. August 13-15 we intend to visit the grandchildren (and their parents) who live in Utah before we pick up our youngest. Spencer will come home from BYU on the same day as Sammy's birthday party (15). I think we'll have a fabulous three days. "Lo, children are an heritage of the Lord: and the fruit of the womb is his reward." Psalm 127:3


I am a Grammy known for giving books as gifts. Lately, I've been drawn to Tasha Tudor's art. (again) So I'm looking at two of her books as possibilities, A is for Annabelle and 1 is One. I can't decide if which one to give or to give both.

I'd also like to make Sammy a play dress, since she's such a girly girl. The pattern I bought is wonderful for pre-schoolers, since it has no buttons or zippers to fool with. 3-year-olds love to do everything themselves. I can't decide if I want to make it long or short sleeved. Cold weather is so close; she'll get more use from it if it is for winter. But this summer has been a scorcher up north--she couldn't wear it now with long sleeves. Emily, you'll have to let me know her measurements and your preference.

Reading the scriptures and keeping this journal are my delight. I do not keep an online journal to preach to anyone but myself. I like this format, because I can add pictures and correct my writing easier. If you enjoy reading it, I am happy.
