On the table side by side,
The scriptures and the T.V. Guide.
One is well worn and cherished with pride.
Not the scriptures, but the T.V. Guide.
One is used daily to help folks decide,
Nope, not the scriptures, but the T.V. Guide.
As pages are turned what shall they see,
Oh, what does it matter— turn on the T.V.
The word of God is seldom read,
Perhaps a verse before they fall into bed.
Exhausted and sleepy, tired as can be,
Not from the scriptures, but from watching T.V.
So back to the table side by side,
There sit the scriptures and the T.V. Guide.
The Plan of Salvation is for you and for me,
But it’s found in the scriptures, not on T.V.
“Before we can successfully under take a personal search for Jesus, we must first prepare time for him in our lives and room for him in our hearts. In these busy days there are many who have time for golf, time for shopping, time for work, time for play— but no time for Christ.” Thomas S. Monson

Reading the scriptures each morning, I am filled with the desire to do good. Unfortunately, I sometimes get a bit lax. It's as if I can feel the spirituality drain from my body. The peace that I gain from this essential practice is turned to anger, contention, envy, and bitterness in a matter of a few days. I'm resolved to never fall into this trap again. My sweet hour of prayer is too sacred to let other things interfere.

Reading the scriptures and keeping this journal are my delight. I do not keep an online journal to preach to anyone but myself. I like this format, because I can add pictures and correct my writing easier. If you enjoy reading it, I am happy. If you feel offended, please, realize it is not my intention to offend but to teach myself. No negative comments will not be published.
