Word of Wisdom by Melinds ByersI've been working my way through Mein Kampf very slowly, so that I can understand exactly what Hitler was thinking. It's a bit hard, because I already know the outcome. Interestingly, he hated Marxism, as do I and may people. In the end he used the same tactics of absolute control, statism, seizing assets, brainwashing of the nation's youth, terror, oppression, and murder to reach his desired end. And he nearly made it.
He paints a picture of how he came to hate the Jews. Why he could blame all the ills of Marxism on them is very thin reasoning, similar to the way Mr. Obama blames all the ills of U.S. society on the "white man." Interestingly, Mr. Obama is as white as Hitler was Jewish.
I suppose one can sit back and moan about one's position in life as unchangeable or one's group as so repressed that there is no way out of the abyss. But I refuse to accept it. There are many people of all races, who pulled themselves out of poverty in this country in only one generation. Work is the difference. Self-pity and destructive behavior are not part of the equation.
For instance Dr. Ben Carson, renowned pediatric brain surgeon, grew up in a single parent home in the slums of Detroit. "Well, I think we all need to remember that everyone faces obstacles in life. But the real key to success is the attitude you take toward them. If you see obstacles as walls, then you're in danger of using them as excuses for failure. But if you treat them as hurdles, as opportunities, then they can motivate you to develop your talents and meet the challenges in your life...I'm also interested in carrying my message about the value of education to people everywhere. I think it would be wonderful, for example, if we could make academic achievement as important -- as admirable -- as athletic achievement in our nation today....I believe we can solve many of the problems that trouble our society today -- provided that we get to work thinking about them and using the brains that God gave us more effectively." Hitler and Mr. Obama are (were) of the victim mentality and promote(d) true racism. Dr. Carson sees the God-given talents and possibilities of all.
