Paradigm Shift
“The list of health problems I think it would very hard to live with is SO much longer than the list of foods I previously thought I couldn’t live without,” Merrill Alley.

Amazing Grace...Journal #7
My outlook today...happy and well rested after two days of hard travel. The Sabbath is a wonderful blessing. God sure knew what we needed.
On my mind today...I'm going for a walk on Redondo board walk. I'll see Puget Sound, smell the salt air, feel the warmish breeze, but I can't afford to taste a salmon dinner. Update: As usual, Seattle weather controls the outdoor activities of its inhabitants with incessant rain. Ah well, my walk will have to wait for the first clear day.
What's cooking in my kitchen...Only green smoothies. We move into our Seattle house tonight--then I'll make a couple soups from Pantry Principle week #1 and lots of salads that include a bit of salmon on top.
Prayer requests for the week ahead...let's pray for the leaders of nations and churches. That the former will listen to the latter, and that the latter will listen to God.
My appearance today...blue pleated skirt, white blouse, pink cardigan, black tights, and birkies.
Exercise goals for the week...I'll walk at Redondo, when I can. But my main exercise will be my vintage low-impact Firm DVD in the morning and stretches from Dr. Chan before bed.
My reading this week… LMU reading list from my side bar, Herbs to the Rescue by Kurt King, Western Civilization, Great Books list from my sidebar. I'm especially enjoying Mansfield Park from LMU.
Blessings This Week...God gave us safe roads. Our prayers were answered. We've been healthy. My arthritis seems to be a non-issue with my diet, herbs, and exercise. God directs my paths.
A Scripture passage I am memorizing/meditating on..."The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork." Psalm 19:1
Home making tasks this week...I don't know since I haven't seen the state of the house yet this year. I'll probably start with Pantry Principle area #1 and menu #1.
Something new to try...On my many hours of silent driving, I designed a skirt in my head. I'll try sewing it after I'm done making Gayle's birthday present.
My week is looking...full of studying, sewing, and cooking for my sweetheart.
Creative projects I'm working on...Gayle's birthday dress, a black apple doll to with a dress to match, and my new plaid skirt. This is an example of the doll, but of course Gayle's will have brown hair and a pink corduroy dress to match her birthday dress.
God has been teaching me...to learn from the mistakes of others. I think I like letting others have their temper tantrums and sulks without taking things personally.
For devotions...Genesis...I love reading about the creation. I marvel and wonder at God's power. The order of the universe right down to the intricacy of cells and molecules denote that He lives.
A simple pleasure...the moist air and Douglas firs that greeted me, when I came to town.
Commitment to loveliness...1) making sure the Seattle house is in good order before getting into my projects 2) work on How Great Thou Art and Amazing Grace on my violin--vibrato is slowly coming back 3) send oatmeal cookies to Spencer and Jason 4) commit 30 min. each violin and piano except 5) journal every day
Pictures to share…I didn't take the picture above but borrowed it from another blog. This is Redondo board walk that I keep writing about. I can't upload my own pictures right now until my little computer is fixed.

Reading the scriptures and keeping this journal are my delight. I do not keep an online journal to preach to anyone but myself. I like this format, because I can add pictures and correct my writing easier. If you enjoy reading it, I am happy. If you feel offended, please, realize it is not my intention to offend but to teach myself. No negative comments will not be published.
