My outlook...happy. The sun is shining, and I am well.
On my mind...listening to a few lectures today, Prozac and all it's cousins are scary things. They've been linked to homicide, infanticide, suicide, and violent behaviors. They have been linked with all the tragedies involving school shootings and mothers killing their children for the last 20 years. Why are they still approved drugs?
What's cooking in my kitchen...with my cabinets full of grains and legumes and my fridge full of produce, I'm set for a delicious few days. A pot of rattatoui is on the stove.
Prayer requests for the week ahead...daytime sunshine/nighttime rain
My appearance today...navy floral skirt, white pintucked blouse, plum wool cardigan, black leggings, and birkies.
Exercise goals...walking, the Firm, and Dr. Chan's stretches.
My reading this week… LMU reading list from my side bar, How to Raise Healthy Kids in Spite of Your Doctor, The War on Children by Karen Gushta, Prozac: Panacea or Pandora by Ann Tracy, The Essays by Montaigne, Women of the Old Testament by C.F. Olson.
Blessings Last Week...good health~good food. Grandma is out of the hospital after her heart attack and stint surgery. She's feeling pretty good although a little slow. My FIL has less pain. Spent a great weekend with the Guettermans, friends that have been family for years, and Lee Williams, a cousin.
A Scripture passage I am meditating on..." Prove thy servants, I beseech thee, ten days; and let them give us pulse (legumes and grains) to eat, and water to drink. Then let our countenances be looked upon before thee, and the countenance of the children that eat of the portion of the king’s meat: and as thou seest, deal with thy servants. So he consented to them in this matter, and proved them ten days. And at the end of ten days their countenances appeared fairer and fatter in flesh than all the children which did eat the portion of the king’s meat. Thus Melzar took away the portion of their meat, and the wine that they should drink; and gave them pulse." Daniel 1:12-16
Home making tasks this week...I'm in Pantry Principle area #3.
Something new to try...Key Lime Pie from the book Raw Food Made Easy by Jennifer Cornbleet.
My week is looking...interesting. I'm responsible for the afternoon evening shift. I'm not sure I want to do this but my help is needed. I'm trying to be positive. We'll get to eat dinner together every night throughout tax season, a first in our marriage. I can look at it as a daily picnic date.
God has been teaching me...the value of priesthood blessings.
For devotions...studying the Fall in Genesis this week. I skip around for my Spanish devotions but am consistent so as to keep moving forward in my acquisition of the language.
A simple pleasure...Seattle sun breaks.
Commitment to loveliness...1) re-make my denim dress into a skirt 2) Laura's Theme on the violin 3) learn to grow nice straight mung bean sprouts 4)get out in the sun every time it shines 5) schedule out books and goals as a lovely page in my journal/scrapbook.

Reading the scriptures and keeping this journal are my delight. I do not keep an online journal to preach to anyone but myself. I like this format, because I can add pictures and correct my writing easier. If you enjoy reading it, I am happy. If you feel offended, please, realize it is not my intention to offend but to teach myself. No negative comments will not be published.
