Outlook...looking forward
On My Mind...friends adventuring in foreign lands...little girls with bangs...silk...fireworks...hot water...cook stoves
Delish Kitch...usually we eat salmon, when fish is on the menu. Be that as it may, the cod was fresh caught and beautiful at the market. I made a sort of caccitore with lots of mushrooms, onions, fire roasted tomatoes and cod, whole wheat penne, and beautiful Mexican asparagus with lemon. All of this was organic or wild harvested.
Homemaking...today the nest sprucing gave me an incredible high. Now that I don't get to spend my days tending the fires, I miss it more than I ever dreamed I would.
Praying for...strength
Appearance...new to me charcoal and light grey, vertically striped, wool skirt of lower mid-calf length, plain white blouse, my favorite (10 years now) plum wool sweater, black tights, and privo mary-janes~same old long curls, retro glasses, and that's it.
Movement...taking it easy this week...a little anemic again.
Bibliophile Fix…my usual lists, Back to Eden by Jethro Kloss, and The Young Woman's Book: a useful manual for everyday life By Laura Valentine
Blessings...fell asleep on a lovely drive in winding, mountainous country...God drove my car for who knows how long. Being roused from my sleep, I struggled to the next exit, ate lunch, and was much refreshed.
Scripture Meditations..."And Hannah answered and said, No, my lord, I am a woman of a sorrowful spirit: I have drunk neither wine nor strong drink, but have poured out my soul before the Lord." 1 Samuel 1:15
Something New...I'm changing my schedule all around. I miss all my favorite nature, cooking, polishing, and sewing time. Instead of cramming my homemaking and exercising into a rushed, short, morning hour, I plan to spend mornings in these endeavors after scripture reading. While at work, I find I have long stretches of time that make perfect study periods and writing.
My week is looking...uncertain....
God has been teaching me...I am not forsaken.
Devotions...Gospel Doctrine lesson 8, read a couple articles from the February Ensign and one from the Conference Report. Old Testament will be Samuel this week. Spanish devotions remain with Polyglot Book of Mormon.
Simple Pleasure...gentle rain...flowering plum blossoms (pink snow)...crocus, daffodil, hyacinth.
Commitment to Loveliness...1) buy flowers for arranging maybe some bright yellow daffodils or pink tulips 2) buy multi-hangers for skirts and blouses 3) flowering plum drawing for my journal 4) smile 5) think more~speak less
Poetry I'm Enjoying...
Hope is the thing...
Hope is the thing with feathers
That perches in the soul,
And sings the tune without the words,
And never stops at all,
That perches in the soul,
And sings the tune without the words,
And never stops at all,
And sweetest in the gale is heard;
And sore must be the storm
That could abash the little bird
That kept so many warm.
And sore must be the storm
That could abash the little bird
That kept so many warm.
I've heard it in the chillest land,
And on the strangest sea;
Yet, never, in extremity,
It asked a crumb of me.
And on the strangest sea;
Yet, never, in extremity,
It asked a crumb of me.

Reading the scriptures and keeping this journal are my delight. I do not keep an online journal to preach to anyone but myself. I like this format, because I can add pictures and correct my writing easier. If you enjoy reading it, I am happy. If you feel offended, please, realize it is not my intention to offend but to teach myself. No negative comments will not be published.
