Paradigm Shift

“The list of health problems I think it would very hard to live with is SO much longer than the list of foods I previously thought I couldn’t live without,” Merrill Alley.

Inside it was Hawaii~journal#17 3/15/2010

Outlook...restful...

Delish Kitch...made some wonderful pasta marinara last night...

Homemaking...laundry from 10 days away from home

Praying for...not revealed.

Appearance...denim dress, blue wool cardigan, birkies...

Movement...down with a terrible kidney infection~haven't had one of these, since I was a little girl. I can't even think about moving. I will never, never be without my distilled water again.

Bibliophile Fix…I'm going to settle down with an old favorite, The Harvester. This time through I'll know a bit more about the herbs described.

Scripture Meditations..."Let the heavens be glad, and let the earth rejoice: and let men say among the nations, The Lord reigneth." 1 Corinthians 16:31

Something New...nothing new. I just want to stay home and get well.

My week is looking...uncertain. Hopefully, I'll get well quickly.

God has been teaching me..."For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith." Romans 1:16-17

SPRING

by: Anacreon (c.572-488 BC)

      EE the Spring herself discloses,
      And the Graces gather roses;
      See how the becalmed seas
      Now their swelling waves appease;
      How the duck swims, how the crane
      Comes from winter home again;
      See how Titan's cheerful ray
      Chaseth the dark clouds away;
      Now in their new robes of green
      Are the plowman's labors seen:
      Now the lusty teeming Earth
      Springs each hour with a new birth;
      Now the olive blooms: the vine
      Now doth with plump pendants shine;
      And with leaves and blossoms now
      Freshly bourgeons every bough.

Photo...Last week I got lost in downtown Tacoma on a cold, gray day. I saw a park and decided to get out and walk to calm down. I made the most wonderful, serendipitous find, W. W. Seymour Botanical Conservatory. It's a 1908 Victorian, tropical greenhouse. Its glass paned dome boasts exotic tropical plants such as ginger, jasmine, orchids, and seasonal floral displays. Amazingly, it's free! The park where I found this lovely 12 sided dome with two wings and 3,000 glass panels, Wright Park, is a fabulous place to walk off tension with all the walking trails, duck pond, bridges, and amazing Camilla forest. Inside it was Hawaii~outside pure Pacific NW. So how could I live here for nearly 20 years and never know about it?

  1. The picture is so beautiful. If you are ever near Philly, you must check out Longwood Gardens... it does cost money, but it is so beautiful. I try to visit it whenever I go "home" to see my parents.

Reading the scriptures and keeping this journal are my delight. I do not keep an online journal to preach to anyone but myself. I like this format, because I can add pictures and correct my writing easier. If you enjoy reading it, I am happy.
