scripture power-Psamls 19 & 119

David Playing the Harp" (1670) by Jan de Bray

According to David the scriptures are law, testimony, statutes, commandments, judgments, perfect, sure, right, pure, true, righteous, more desired than gold, and sweeter than honey Psalm 19:7–10 . Not only those things they are full of blessings to convert, make the simple wise, make hearts rejoice, enlighten our eyes, and warn us about the future Psalm 19:7–11. I'm not sure how wise I am, but the scriptures blessed my life when I diligently spend time in them every day. I feel closer to God, happier, and more certain about what He needs me to do. I want to do the things that He's commanded and suggested, because I know these things bring peace.

“O how love I thy law! it is my meditation all the day” Psalm 119:97. I developed my love of the scriptures by making them a priority in my life. Several years ago, we struggled as a family with family scripture reading. My husband and I sat down to determine a course of action. Our new mantra was--every day no exceptions. From then until now, we have scripture study every evening no matter what. Our family culture is richer and more spiritual because of it.

The scriptures are like “a lamp unto [our] feet, and a light unto [our] path” because reading them consistently is a wonderful way to know God's will for me and my family Psalm 119:105. As we read along, it's as if God answers our questions about my current spiritual and temporal issues with His ancient words. If I could shout it from the roof top, I would tell everyone in the world that all the answers you are seeking can be found in God's Holy Word if you take the time to be in that Word every day--no exceptions. Questions about diet--answers are in there. Questions about child rearing--answers are in there. Questions about finances, behavior, mental illness, gardening, etc, etc,--answers are in there."Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way? by taking heed thereto according to thy word. With my whole heart have I sought thee: O let me not wander from thy commandments. Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee." Psalm 119: 9-11

Reading the scriptures and keeping this journal are my delight. I do not keep an online journal to preach to anyone but myself. I like this format, because I can add pictures and correct my writing easier. If you enjoy reading it, I am happy. If you feel offended, please, realize it is not my intention to offend but to teach myself. No negative comments will not be published.
