conservative side/hippy side...choices-journal # 34 7/12/2010

On my mind
peace and choices

Keeping a Home
Pantry Principle area 3 order is returning and clearing my mind

Deliciousness
I baked some absolutely delicious Ezekiel bread in the sun oven. Most of the family is enjoying the photographing of the recipes in my book. We've moved into a nice rhythm for our dining pleasures.

Toward Real Education
Each month when my new herb class comes online, I immerse myself--true more than ever with Dr. Christopher's video lectures--loving them----found a new resource to supplement my herbal quest, HerbMentor.com

Toward Rhythm and Beauty
Working on getting my team playbook ironed out...my major goals are coming to the forefront nicely, making it more clear than ever how I should be spending my daily allotment of time

Bee News
trying to come up with $ for an extractor...the bees are working like crazy this year

Garden Gate
Made Pico de Gallo with peppers, tomatoes, chives, parsley, and cilantro from my garden last night...raspberries are filling out wonderfully

Biblo Fix  I've been reading a recommended book  that is a bit too much on the right-wing wacko side.  It's all about the last days with lots of guns and survival information. Although I consider myself very conservative, it's too much for me. My hippy side is loving Mediterranean Vegan Kitchen . When the big crash comes, I'll spend my time specializing in being the medicine woman, school teacher, cook, and gardener. The others can tote guns.

Appearance
Pink peasant skirt, white blouse with 3/4 sleeves
Scripture Meditations
"Thou shalt not avenge, not bear any grudge against the children of thy people, but though shalt love they neighbor as thyself..."  Leviticus 19:18

Praying For
This week our grandone of the week is  Tyson.  He is an easy-going, happy, little man. I pray for his health and safety, his ability to remember to choose the right, and his desire to be a kind brother and obedient to his parents. I pray that his parents will be led by the Spirit in raising him. I pray that the world will be a safe place for him to grow up and  that children everywhere will be as blessed with safety, happiness, and necessities.

What's Coming
art work for my book of little ginger's green food pyramid
Simple Pleasure
a shining clean kitchen

Commitment to Loveliness
I'm not sure how lovely it is, but I'm working on making tinctures for my herbal first aid kit and pharmacy. Yup--it's the first time in my adult life I've ever bought alcohol. I need to finish picking my bumper crop of currents and make jam.

Images From My Life
Six years ago, I bought a package of seeds that said perennial and sprinkled them between the apple tree and north raspberries. When he designed them, God knew how much certain women like me would need a boost to faith each year. Like clockwork this flowers come back reminding me that my little troubles are quite small. I transplanted some of the roots last fall and have a few now growing next to my front door step as well.

Reading the scriptures and keeping this journal are my delight. I do not keep an online journal to preach to anyone but myself. I like this format, because I can add pictures and correct my writing easier. If you enjoy reading it, I am happy. If you feel offended, please, realize it is not my intention to offend but to teach myself. No negative comments will not be published.
