breaking chains

We know a broken heart and contrite spirit are essential in keeping us close to God and the influence of the Holy Ghost, but are they? Sinning offends the Savior. We possess a broken heart, when we realize our sins. Like Rembrandt, we realize that we raised him upon the cross ourselves. At the point we begin to suffer remorse for wrongdoing, we receive a broken heart. These steps, recognition and remorse are necessary for repentance. These actions humble us and draw us closer to God. Only then is He able to teach us of His great love and mission. Changing the desires and intents of our hearts during our times of humility, a broken heart, contrite spirit, repentance, and acceptance of His Will, we desire more and more to do only good. These acts allow Jesus to help us break the chains of sin that bind us.

"And they all cried with one voice, saying: Yea, we believe all the words which thou hast spoken unto us; and also we know of their surety and truth, because of the Spirit of the Lord Omnipotent, which has wrought a mighty change in us, or in our hearts, that we have no more disposition to do evil, but to do good continually." Mosiah 5:2

"There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death. For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh: That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit." Romans 8:1-4

There is no other way that we can partake of the blessings of Jesus' Atonement.  There is no other way we can truly repent and be forgiven of our sins. Possibly this is the reason that Jesus tells us not to judge--only He can look on the heart to judge our sincerity and circumstances.

Reading the scriptures and keeping this journal are my delight. I do not keep an online journal to preach to anyone but myself. I like this format, because I can add pictures and correct my writing easier. If you enjoy reading it, I am happy. If you feel offended, please, realize it is not my intention to offend but to teach myself. No negative comments will not be published.
