it's all about faith

Human rationalization has been responsible for great sin. Humans justify murder, unchastity, theft, and pride. Contrary to the will of God, rationalization is on of Satan's main tools to destroy the kingdom of God. Today all around us we can see the promised signs prior to the second coming of Christ, but many refuse to believe just as they did the first time.

"And they began to reason and to contend among themselves, saying: That it is not reasonable that such a being as a Christ shall come; if so, and he be the son of God, the Father of heaven and of earth, as it has been spoken, why will he not show himself unto us as well as unto them who shall be at Jerusalem? Yea, why will he not show himself in this land as well as in the land of Jerusalem? But behold, we know that this is a wicked tradition, which has been handed down unto us by our fathers, to cause us that we should believe in some great and marvelous thing which should come to pass, but not among us, but in a land which is far distant, a land which we know not; therefore, the can keep us in ignorance, for we cannot witness with our own eyes that they are true." Helaman 16:17-20

Without faith, we rely only on rationalization. BTW-Sean Covey, in his book The 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens, tells us that the word rationalization is full of lies. Anyway, people scoff, when we discuss things of God, such as the the mission of Jesus, ancient and modern revelation, ancient and newly revealed scripture, angels, miracles, and so on. When our human reason and wisdom contradict God's prophets and His revealed knowledge, it is time to examine where we gained our wisdom; who is the source?

Much of life is confusing including war, violent or unexpected death, crime, poverty, and natural disasters. Many believe that if was god truly god, he would not allow such suffering. These are under the influence of Satan's subtle whisperings and rationalizations, just as 1/3 of the hosts of heaven were in the pre-mortal existence. Satan is very persuasive then, and he is now. Criticizing God because we do not understand is a huge mistake. Only He can understand why my little Katie, a lovely, intelligent, talented child, was killed in an inexcusable bike/truck accident. Only He can understand why my cousin's boy, a brilliant young college student, was shot in the head by a gang member and now must struggle to learn how to walk, talk, and care for himself again if he can. Only He can understand why human mismanagement of resources or forces of nature leave some hungry and homeless, while others live in luxury. We may not understand these and other inequalities or tragedies in this life. When we accept that God has a plan and continue in faith, we use our own power and ability to develop true wisdom and further the work of the kingdom.

"Behold, great and marvelous are the works of the Lord. how unsearchable are the depths of the mysteries of him; and it is impossible that man should find out all his ways. And no man knoweth of hsiways save it be revealed unto him; wherefore, brethern despise not the revelations of God." Jacob 4:8

Sadly, many choose to despise life, the revelations of God, and the commandments, because they think they are wise or they choose to follow Satan's rationalizations that contradict the will of God.

"For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord. for as the heavens are higher than  the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts." Isaiah 55:8-9

Those that follow Jesus will stay on the path, when human knowledge and reason contradict revealed knowledge. It's all about faith.
