Interestingly, pearls before swine and the golden rule are taught together. The Savior may be telling us unless we treat people well, teaching repentance and faith in Jesus are futile. Just as trying to get a pig to wear a pearl necklace is ridiculous. Certainly, I have as many faults in my own way as most average humans. Joseph teaches the youth in his Sunday School class a little rhyme that goes along with the beam surgery. "First improve yourself today, and then your friends tomorrow." Tomorrow will never come since it turns into today. Consequently, we ought to worry more about serving others and being the best example we can be. Elder Marvin J. Ashton described a meeting in which a group of Church members considered the question, "How can you tell if someone is converted to Jesus Christ?"
"For 45 minutes those in attendance made numerous suggestions in response to this question, and the leader carefully wrote down each answer on a large chalkboard. All of the comments were thoughtful and appropriate. But after a time, this great teacher erased everything he had written. Then, acknowledging that all of the comments had been worthwhile and appreciated, he taught a vital principle: 'The best and most clear indicator that we are progressing spiritually and coming unto Christ is the way we treat other people."
Elder Ashton added: "The way we treat the members of our families, our friends, those with whom we work each day is as important as are some of the more noticeable gospel principles we sometimes emphasize," Ensign, May 119, 20

Reading the scriptures and keeping this journal are my delight. I do not keep an online journal to preach to anyone but myself. I like this format, because I can add pictures and correct my writing easier. If you enjoy reading it, I am happy. If you feel offended, please, realize it is not my intention to offend but to teach myself. No negative comments will not be published.
