Matthew 6:1-18; Mark 11:25-26; Luke 11:1-8
We should not serve, pray, fast, and such to be seen of outers or to gain recognition. We should do them for the higher recognition of a reward in heaven. "Where you treasure is there will your heart be also.." Do we treasure the thought that serving our fellow men is serving Jesus? One good test is the amount of time, money, and effort we devote to something. That is not to say that all our days must be spent in devotion. We must eat, as manna does not fall from the sky. We must be good stewards of our belongings, since maintenance and repairs don't occur like magic. We must care for our families and attend to civic duties. We must learn all we can about God's creations. But doing these things with an eye towards the glory of God is the answer. Our homes are clean and organized so we might better serve and fellowship. Exercise, nutritious meals, learning, and more are done that we might be better servants. Our vocation is attended to so that we may care for basic needs and those of the poor. And joy is the purpose of our existence here, but this is joy in the Lord. As we go through our days, let us keep a prayer in our hearts, avoid tempting situations, seek God's will for our lives, and seek to build His kingdom on earth.

Reading the scriptures and keeping this journal are my delight. I do not keep an online journal to preach to anyone but myself. I like this format, because I can add pictures and correct my writing easier. If you enjoy reading it, I am happy. If you feel offended, please, realize it is not my intention to offend but to teach myself. No negative comments will not be published.
