Paradigm Shift

“The list of health problems I think it would very hard to live with is SO much longer than the list of foods I previously thought I couldn’t live without,” Merrill Alley.

just happy...journal #7-2/28-3/5/2011

On My Mind...just happy...

Celebration...good health/no pain...

Praying...Sammy, 1st daughter of daughter #3 and Sarah, daughter #4..Child and Grandchild of the Week...

Deliciousness...absolutely love instantly fresh greens and sprouts from my micro-farm...made a simple miso dressing--1 t. red meso, 2 T. balsamic vinegar, 1 t. sesame seeds, 1 T. water, blend until smooth...eating lbs. and lbs. of greens...mmmm

Movement...walking and T-Tapping...Maybe I'll talk my sweet heart into some dance lessons...I'd sure like to be as healthy and limber as  my namesake in my old age... but I'll keep my clothes on...

Commitment to Loveliness...going to make some table runners with fun tassels that hang down the side for the piano and my desk in the front room...I have a high quality top sheet that no longer has a matching bottom sheet, which matches the colors in my house amazingly well...probably will make napkins or pillows too...engaged a handyman that lives just three houses to the south to haul our old freezer, ping pong table, and a strange giant TV that Jason left all to the dump this coming Friday...hurray...my storage room will finally not look like a junk heap..I love to be organized and hope to get these lovely containers to replace the plastic bins once I have our possessions culled to the bare minimum.

Commitment to Modesty...whaaa, the sale doesn't start until Monday...can't wait to sew summer dresses...

Scripture Meditations..."For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ" Galatians 1:10...So what am I really about?

Towards a Real Education...I find it amazing how much we learn even the second or third time through something. Enjoying Asimov's Guide to Shakespeareand Shakespeare's Complete Works in the evenings...one student will begin How to Read a Poem soon, as she studies for her Analyzing Lit. CLEP. Anticipating with pleasure reading it again...reveling in all my studying and writing...finished with my new homeschool resource and The New Pantry Principle...

Sound of Music...memorized Abide With Me on violin, almost on piano, again the singing is coming slowly...focusing my listening on Bach lately and delight in his ability to calm...

Natural World...strawberries showing their first leaves of the year...Because training this puppy has me out every hour starting at 5 AM, I saw an amazing sight just before dawn. The waning crescent moon and Venus became my first subject this week....

Simple Pleasure...harvesting soooo many greens...

Garden Gate...got leeks going in east window...

Bee Buzz...false alarm....saw some bees coming out of hive 1...we may still be alive, unless others are robbing...

Cottage Dispensary...enjoying a girl version of my Fountain of Youth formula...

What's Coming...could be great...

  1. Have you listened to The Profound Effects of Music from Excellence in Writing! We listened the other day on our drive to SLC and we were in tears by the end, because it is EXACTLY what we've been saying for years! The Christianity connection!

  2. Yes, we got that CD, when we took a class from AP on Oahu. It made a huge impact in our home even though we always listed to the good stuff.

Reading the scriptures and keeping this journal are my delight. I do not keep an online journal to preach to anyone but myself. I like this format, because I can add pictures and correct my writing easier. If you enjoy reading it, I am happy. If you feel offended, please, realize it is not my intention to offend but to teach myself. No negative comments will not be published.
