John 8:12-36
Apparently, during the Feast of the Tabernacles, the temple was lit brightly. This made Jesus' announcement that He is the light of the world particularly apropos. In the midst of this brightly lit celebration, He figuratively shone above it all. Why? Jesus lights the way to return to the Father through His example and His word.
We then reflect His light when we seek to know the truth "by devout, personal desire; by sincere scriptural study; and by fervent personal prayer. Spiritual truths are known only by revelation." McConkie "...the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God" 1 Corinthians 2:11 "When He, the Spirit of Truth, is come He will guide you into all truth." John 16:13 "By the power of the Holy ghost ye may know the truth of all things." Moroni 10:5
We reflect His light, when we live the truth. "Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven." Matthew 5:16 Jesus did things to please the Father, and we can too. If we continue to believe in Him and accept the blessings of His Atonement, these truths will set us free. Free? Free from what? We will be free from spiritual bondage and the chains of sin. We will be free to abide with the Father in this life and the next. We will be free, because we are spiritually born again of the Father and adopted into His eternal family.

Reading the scriptures and keeping this journal are my delight. I do not keep an online journal to preach to anyone but myself. I like this format, because I can add pictures and correct my writing easier. If you enjoy reading it, I am happy. If you feel offended, please, realize it is not my intention to offend but to teach myself. No negative comments will not be published.
