Matthew 12:22-30; Mark 3:22-27; Luke 11:14-23
Here is a great lesson for families. When we are not unified in our families, we tear it apart. IN the early years of my marriage, I fought against my husband's ideas and he fought against mine. We undermined each other. While our desires were to build a strong, loving family, our actions worked against these goals. In our inexperience we lived Jesus words, "He that is not with me is against me." Simultaneously, we destroyed what we build. Finally, we saw our folly and learned to compromise and support each other. We learned it is not as important to be right, as it is important to be unified.
When parents support each other, it brings peace and unity to the home. Peace and unity are a pleasurable state and strengthen the bonds of the family.

Reading the scriptures and keeping this journal are my delight. I do not keep an online journal to preach to anyone but myself. I like this format, because I can add pictures and correct my writing easier. If you enjoy reading it, I am happy. If you feel offended, please, realize it is not my intention to offend but to teach myself. No negative comments will not be published.

As we grow in our marriage, it gets easier and easier to do as well.
ReplyDeleteHow true, if we are unified then our family life is so much the better. Thank you for the thought today.
Something Dr. Phil always said on his show was, "do you want to be right or do you want to be married?". I've thought a lot about that. That's a hard 'instinct' to overcome - being right. Good thought!
