"Beam-ectomy should precede all mote micro-surgery. Just saying." Ginger Conrad paraphrasing Jesus Christ.

Paradigm Shift

“The list of health problems I think it would very hard to live with is SO much longer than the list of foods I previously thought I couldn’t live without,” Merrill Alley.

sweet miracles...journal #8-3/6-13/2011

On My Mind...the people suffering in Japan...

Celebration...almost lost little Gucci to parvo. She was not eating and went into hypoglycemic shock. She could not stand up, hold her head up, or get out of her crate. Per the vet's instructions, I  forced honey water from an eye dropper into her mouth. I have to feed her a mixture of honey water and a prescription wet dog food for ill animals every few hours  for the next few days. Fortunately, the parvo is mild, and she will recover...

Praying...Oakley, 1st daughter of daughter #1 and Rohn, spouse of daughter #4...Child and Grandchild of the Week...the hunger, cold, scared,  injured, and mourning around the world...

Deliciousness...Finished the New Pantry Principle this week, and I must say the nutritarian recipes are wonderful...my Tomato Basil Bisque might be one of the most delicious soups on earth...NPP will be one of the free gifts along with Homeschool Blast Off on my new website...

Movement....It's a miracle! I did it once before but was so sick that I gave up. This time is much better. My back injury from lifting my FIL is totally gone. Furthermore, I have lived with painful, deformed feet for 47 years. Corrective shoes that I wore as a child helped, but I still fell and tripped a lot. I was terrible at sports with my painful clumsy, crunchy feet, knees, and hips. To add insut to injury, in my 30s I tore the cartilage in my right hip,  while riding Razor scooters with my sons, and gave myself injury induced bursitis and arthritis.  Yeah, pretty silly...so...I've been doing Basic + and Tapp Core 6 days a week for several weeks. In the beginning, every time I got to the plies, my right ankle and arch cracked a lot. My right hip yelled at me to quit, but I kept right on. That all stopped. My feet, ankles, knees, hips, and back have zero pain or crunching. These exercises did in a few weeks what doctors, corrective shoes, and physical therapy have not been able to accomplish for nearly half a century. I'm so grateful that Teresa developed this gentle but effective approach to fitness and that my friend Erin suggested it.

William Waterhouse, The Flower Picker
Commitment to Modesty...Thimble News...William Waterhouse's The Flower Picker was the inspiration for my newest design. Of course it isn't a jumper but has cap sleeves, is made from cotton interlock, and is mid-calf in length. The color is similar and so is the cut...the first try is only OK...The skirt needs to be fuller. #1 will be for exercising and gardening. Front and back both need to be nearly the entire width of the fabric at the bottom instead of half...it fits perfectly--like a glove, not a sausage casing, but a glove--nice...

Commitment to Lovliness...resolved to spend little snippets of time creating at my machine...

Scripture Meditations..."She seeketh wool, and flax, and worketh willingly with her hands...she maketh herself coverings of tapestry; her clothing is silk and purple..." Proverbs 31:13, 22 How about blue cotton?

Towards a Real Education...done with all but one of my herb classes...waiting until next year to attend seminar and finals week--logistics...

Sound of Music...a lot more fulfilling playing hymns on piano and violin, since I found so many in keys that I can actually use...playing hymns is like praying...thinking of getting out the guitar...

Natural World...enjoying Venus in the wee small and the beautiful blue of sunny 65F days...

Simple Pleasure...watched the Audrey Hepburn Story... she was such an elegant lady. I loved her attitude about marriage and children but not about career.

Garden Gate...indoor garden producing like gang-busters...leeks did not sprout planted more on Saturday...

Bee Buzz...they are buzzy in and out of the hives. I have seen chickweed and another tiny purple flower (weed) blooming...

Cottage Dispensary...honey cures honey...

What's Coming...my honey...

Reading the scriptures and keeping this journal are my delight. I do not keep an online journal to preach to anyone but myself. I like this format, because I can add pictures and correct my writing easier. If you enjoy reading it, I am happy. If you feel offended, please, realize it is not my intention to offend but to teach myself. No negative comments will not be published.
