Luke 10:38-42
As Martha prepared and served the meal to Jesus, her sister neglected her homemaking duties to listen to the Savior. Martha needed help but the scriptures indicate that maybe she went a little overboard. Perhaps, her focus went beyond preparing and serving to the level of pride.
"...though temporal food is essential to life, once a reasonable amount has been acquired, then spiritual matters should take precedence. Bread is essential to life, but man is not to live by bread alone. Food, clothing, and shelter are essential to mortal existence, but once these have been gained in reasonable degree, there is only "one thing" needful--and that is to partake of the spiritual food spread on the gospel table." Bruce R. McConkie, DNTC, V1, P473
I love my job of homemaker--the creating, the caring, the serving. I guess the question I must ask myself is whether I let it reach the level of pride. Certainly, I spend time at the Master's feet, but am I choosing that good part enough?

Reading the scriptures and keeping this journal are my delight. I do not keep an online journal to preach to anyone but myself. I like this format, because I can add pictures and correct my writing easier. If you enjoy reading it, I am happy. If you feel offended, please, realize it is not my intention to offend but to teach myself. No negative comments will not be published.
