What a milestone! Journaling electronically seems to be my best method, a simple pleasure, and certainly takes up less space than the 10 or 12 filled journals on my shelf. I should have some sort of give-away like popular blogs for reaching 600 posts. My blog is nearly bereft of readers--but still 600 posts. Therefore I have decided to have a drawing for a mystery gift. If anyone comments on this post, they are eligible for the drawing. Because it is altogether possible that nobody will respond, the prize will be a nice one so I can keep it. LOL
"Our Lord's purpose was to show the contrast between the care, thoughtfulness, and devotion of men engaged in the moneymaking affairs of earth, and the halfhearted ways of many who are professedly striving after spiritual riches. Worldly-minded men do not neglect provision for their future years, and often are sinfully eager to amass plenty; while the 'children of light' or those who believe spiritual wealth to be above all earthly possessions, are less energetic, prudent, or wise...Make such use of your wealth as shall insure you friends hereafter. Be diligent; for the day in which you can use your earthly riches will soon pass." James E Talmage
The point here as pretty black and white. Be more dedicated and enthusiastic in seeking spiritual treasure. The only way to Jesus Christ is serving Him with our whole might, mind, ans strength both in formal callings and in being anxiously engaged in good causes of our own choosing. I am grateful for my earthly blessings. As I gaze out the window at the light dusting of snow, I am delighted to hear the heater cranking and feel the warmth creeping through the house. My earthly blessings are many, and it is surprising what the Lord has done for one such as I. But my mansion upon high is my goal.
Journaling brings me great pleasure, too. I love being able to do it online, but I also work hard to make sure I fill notebooks and journals with my own penmanship. Congrats on 600 posts! Quite the accomplishment! :)
ReplyDeleteI love your name 'mama boss.' I keep a nature journal with drawings, poetry, and such.
ReplyDeleteI am glad you share your thoughts online! I have gleaned much from your wisdom.
ReplyDeleteI read your blog and love it!...I just don't get a chance to read very often because I am too busy rambling on mine!!!...What does that say about me?... :) I am so with you that electronic journaling is the way to go. But I have to admit, I have an addiction to paper and journals fall into that broad category...I have so many journals with the 1st 5 pages written in, than they are abandoned...I love your blog!
ReplyDeleteFollowed your link from Cocoa's blog.
ReplyDeleteI too love to journal. It is such a cathartic release to journal. Blogging also brings me great joy.

Your plan B sounds like a genius idea to me! :)
ReplyDeleteI have a journal that I kept during a really difficult time in my life - priceless. Writing my thoughts down really helped me to analyze them and figure out exactly how I felt about different things. It's time to pull it back out, I do believe. Thanks!
Lets see if my ipad will let me post a comment. I read your blog everyday. I am so excited to meet you IRL next month. I count you as one of my friends, even though we hardly communicate, even online! I feel like we kind of "get" each other on some sort of time traveling level or something...LOL. Remember if you need anything for the big adventure please let me know.
ReplyDeleteAlways enjoy your blog, especially your notes about gardening and herbal remedies.
ReplyDeleteNever kept a paper journal myself but have long been an avid letter writer. Computers have made that much easier. I love having a library at my fingertips.
"A friend is a gift you give yourself." You are that very special gift, dear Ginger.
Blessings~
I was first drawn to your blog by your header "approaching homemaking as a creative opportunity rather than a chore", but I have continued reading because I enjoy your thoughts.
