Luke 12:13-21
Jesus told the man not to covet, which is good advice for us today. When we buy things on credit that we can't afford, we are coveting. Some people are proud and think that things define them. But the scriptures don't say the worth of big houses, nice cares, fancy clothes, and adult toys are great in the sight of God. They say the worth of a soul is great in the sight of God. Instead of seeking wealth we ought to seek wisdom and the Kingdom of God. We ought to bless others with our excess.
Setting our hearts upon riches, we set ourselves up for failure. Surly, it is nice to be well fed and comfortable, but when does lavishness become sinfulness? So I'm pondering, how can I be more generous with my time, talents, and means? How can I still enjoy the things of the world without putting them before God?

Reading the scriptures and keeping this journal are my delight. I do not keep an online journal to preach to anyone but myself. I like this format, because I can add pictures and correct my writing easier. If you enjoy reading it, I am happy. If you feel offended, please, realize it is not my intention to offend but to teach myself. No negative comments will not be published.
