Peter's vision

Acts 11

Cornelius, a Roman centurion, was a righteous, God-fearing man. Cornelius was told by an angel that God heard his prayer and wanted him to go see Peter. Immediately, Cornelius sent two of his servants that also loved God. To immediately follow promptings and instructions from God is important. Possibly, He has an important time table. Maybe we will miss the opportunity to serve if we wait.

Peter had a dream or vision about unclean things. It is an allegory to illustrate that God loves all His children. The gentiles were no longer to be considered unclean. The gospel and the love of God are available to all people. Afterwards, Peter began his mission to teach the gentiles with Cornelius and his friends. As Peter related Jesus' gospel of peace, the Holy Ghost rested upon them. Peter baptized them.

Members of the church were confused by Peter's actions with Gentiles until he explained his vision. Likewise, today the prophet of the Lord receives revelation for the church that we may not understand. We can pray for a personal witness of the truthfulness of each new revelation. We can also rest assured that God will not allow anyone that speaks in His name to lead the church astray.

Reading the scriptures and keeping this journal are my delight. I do not keep an online journal to preach to anyone but myself. I like this format, because I can add pictures and correct my writing easier. If you enjoy reading it, I am happy. If you feel offended, please, realize it is not my intention to offend but to teach myself. No negative comments will not be published.
