forget-me-not |
Yesterdat my sweet, little Katie's birthday. She would have been 23. While I know I'll get to see her again, and she will always be my girl, I wish I could talk to her and see her as a grown woman now. She had piano player hands and looked very much like her beautiful Grandma Conrad. I bet they are having a lovely time catching up.
This was taken the summer before she died. Katie is standing right in front of me. |
The gospel of Jesus Christ is a sweet balm for the grieving soul. Because if it, I don't have the heavy sadness of years ago. My sorrow has been gently changed to sweet anticipation. I love life and will continue to live it to the fullest. Thoughts for what comes later don't frighten me at all; friends, family, and my Savior are waiting to greet me all in good time.
I also want to take this opportunity to ask you to check your children's bicycle helmets. Hold a family home evening to teach them why and how to wear them. Show them how to buckle them properly so they don't fly off the head during an accident. Make them mandatory for all wheel sport activities. No helmet; no bike, skates, skateboard, etc.
Such a sweet and touching post! May God continue to grant you peace and knowledge in the plan of happiness!
