Paradigm Shift

“The list of health problems I think it would very hard to live with is SO much longer than the list of foods I previously thought I couldn’t live without,” Merrill Alley.

Celebration...improved health this week...

Praying for Cole and Emily...Leaders of Nations...families and orphans...

Scripture Meditations..."For we ourselves also were sometimes foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving divers lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, and hating one another. But after that the kindness and love of God our Savior toward man appeared...according to his mercy..." Titus 3:3-5

Commitment to Movement...walking in the beauty of God's creation lifts my spirits more than anything else...

Commitment to Healthy Deliciousness...joining this 6-week challenge to inspire me to cook and eat more...

Lentil Ratatouille

1 onion, pureed
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 large eggplant, 1 inch cubes or 4 Japanese eggplants sliced
2 medium zucchini, sliced
1 c. water
1 T. fresh thyme
1/2 c. puy lentils
1/4 teaspoon smoked paprika
pinch cayenne
2 c. diced fresh tomatoes
2 c. chopped kale
1 c. fresh basil, ribbon cut
black pepper
1/4 c. nutritional yeast

Steam onion over very low heat in stainless steel soup pot for 20-30 min until they begin to turn golden. Add the garlic and cook for another minute. Add lentils, spices, and water. Cook for about 20 minutes. Add eggplant and tomatoes. Cook for about 10 minutes. Add zucchini and kale. Cook for another 3-5 minutes. Stir in basil, nutritional yeast, and several twists of black pepper. Serve over amaranth/corn polenta.

Commitment to Modesty...we went to the movie this week twice...strange yes...one movie was set in the 60s, where most women wore dresses. Sometimes they were a bit tight, but some were worth emulating. This is when women were supposedly objects or ornaments. Fast forward...the second movie was set in modern times. The women wore men's clothes or hooker clothes. They either looked dirty and messy or like prostitutes. Mmmmm...I believe women are used more as objects today than in any other time. Girls and women dress in tight revealing clothing and use sexuality to attract 'luv.' What has feminism done to change this? It is worse, because now the feminine role that used to exalt women has been nearly destroyed.

All of their dresses add to their femininity. Gotta love it.

Although rumpled, I love this suit dress.

Commitment to Loveliness...this week I'm paying more attention to inner beauty, since I need a bit of an overhaul in this area.

Sound of Music...if I can stay healthy til the end of the week, I may get to pick up my friend. Then the singing will commence.

Thimble News...nothing to report...

Toward a Real Education...enjoying my studies and writing...

Garden Gate...bought corn from some neighbors down the street and ate it one night for dinner...

The Dispensary...paying better attention to food, rest, exercise, water, and sun has helped me a lot over the last couple weeks. I designed an herbal formula with Mullein Leaf, Licorice Root, False Unicorn, Lady’s Mantle, Eleuthero Root, Squaw vine, Gotu Kola, Blessed Thistle, Red Raspberry leaf,  Hawthorn Berries, Lobelia Herb,  Chamomile, Passion Flower, Shepherd’s Purse, Cramp Bark, St. John’s Wort, Sarsaparilla, Blue Cohosh, Ginger Root and Cayenne which has helped me regain a bit of energy and endurance. With all the stress of the past winter, my adrenals, liver, kidneys, stomach, and such, sort of went on strike again. Paying better attention to my health and eating specifically to nourish these organs is already making a difference.

Bee Buzz...girls are still working well...I hope to get an extractor this year...

Contemplating...it's so strange how I like to design houses and gardens in my head...got a new imaginary castle going on right now...it would be a heavenly place to live...

Reading the scriptures and keeping this journal are my delight. I do not keep an online journal to preach to anyone but myself. I like this format, because I can add pictures and correct my writing easier. If you enjoy reading it, I am happy. If you feel offended, please, realize it is not my intention to offend but to teach myself. No negative comments will not be published.
