Do we trust that he can deliver us? With God nothing is impossible.
Like everyone, I have lots of limitations. Some of them are obvious to those around me, while others remain between me and the Lord. I work to overcome my limitations, I find strength in my God.
"Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ" Philippians 1:6
"But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible." Matthew 19:26
"Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. " Philippians 4:8
"Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth." 2 Timothy 2:15
"But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you." Matthew 6:33
"Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us" Ephesians 3:20
If we only dream of the day when we overcome our faults, it will stay a dream. With God's help, we must act. We must work with His help to realize our dreams. We can be positive in attitude. This sounds so silly. In days past, the buzz phrase of the day was positive attitude. It practically made me sick. All the fake smiles and love. Uuugghh!
That is not what I mean by a positive attitude. I mean biting your tongue, being nice, looking for a silver lining, and choosing joy, which will truly change your brain physically and chemically. This is not some magic instantaneous light switch. It is real work, but good work.
God can be the catalyst for change in our lives. Starting with an attitude adjustment, we then set realistic, godly goals. I've had many goals through the years that I change in mid-stream. Some I change because circumstances change, other because I realized they would not bring me closer to or glorify God, my ultimate goals.
