On Sunday a young man spoke in our Sacrament Meeting. Although he wasn't a powerful speaker and at times his speech was halting, his words were full of power. He spoke of the miracle of the Romanian revolution, the dedication of the land for the preaching of the gospel, and how quickly the people there accepted the message of the love of Jesus Christ. All this did tie into his words about dedicating our lives to God, but I can't remember the rest. I think he spoke with so much power, because he served a mission in the country and grew to love the people and their history. He gave a scripture in his talk that is so apropos for our day that I just can't stop thinking about.
"...if there be any among you that has a desire for freedom, yea, if there be even a spark of freedom remaining, behold I will stir up insurrections among you, even until those who have desires to usurp power and authority shall become extinct." Alma 60:27
Surely, our situation is not as dire as Ceausescu's Romania, but it may become that way in a very short time. It used to be that we were protected by our Constitution and God in this land. However, we have allowed the Constitution's power to be usurped and destroyed through ignorance and apathy. We can no longer enjoy it's protection. The majority of our population have turned away from God and His commandments. We can no longer beg His protection unless we once again turn to Him. Prayer, repentance, and actually studying our scriptures and the constitution are our only hope. But there is hope!

Reading the scriptures and keeping this journal are my delight. I do not keep an online journal to preach to anyone but myself. I like this format, because I can add pictures and correct my writing easier. If you enjoy reading it, I am happy. If you feel offended, please, realize it is not my intention to offend but to teach myself. No negative comments will not be published.
