"Beam-ectomy should precede all mote micro-surgery. Just saying." Ginger Conrad paraphrasing Jesus Christ.

Paradigm Shift

“The list of health problems I think it would very hard to live with is SO much longer than the list of foods I previously thought I couldn’t live without,” Merrill Alley.

little shadow...journal #6-February 14-20

On My Mind...sitting with the granddog, a tiny Yorkie named Guchi, for the next two months...not normally a dog person but this one has stolen my heart...we worked on kennel training-she got it in one day...hurray! no more sleep-less nights...
Celebration...Spencer is unhurt after swerving to miss a deer, hitting an ice patch, and hitting the curb ...
Praying For...King Cole, 1st child of daughter #1, and Nathan, husband of daughter #3...I love my family!  hoping that health, happiness, security, and the Comforter fill their lives. Cole is a wonderful boy--all boy and quite a gentleman. Nathan is a great dad. I think of family in dire situations around the world and hope for their safety and basic needs are met. I'm praying that the hearts of the leaders of nations will be softened towards the Lord's gospel and His children. I'm praying for the Elders of Israel to save the Constitution of the United States and the liberty it demands. I'm praying for peace, hope, faith, and charity to rest on the hearts of mankind...

Family Affair...can't find a day, when all the girls are free to have me come visit in March...
Commitment to Health...Deliciousness...finally into a rhythm for soaking my grains and beans, sprouting, making rejuvalac, and planting my kitchen garden again...love being a micro-farmer and eating a plant-based diet...

Commitment to Health...Movement...sticking with the program M-Sa...and bringing little Guchi on my walks...
Commitment to Loveliness...Homemaking...finally back into a routine for areas, dailies, and master menu planning...order removes stress .
Commitment to Loveliness...Thimble News...one of these swim suits would be nice but the price tag is more than I'm willing to spend and their measurements don't fit my shape...thinking about how to work the same design with less of a scoop neck and a tiny price tag...probably use some buttons along the shoulder seams to allow a higher neckline and easy of entry...like the sarong look but will make it more to the side instead of off-center front...still in the planning phases with the other projects until I can get some $$$ together...
Commitment to Modesty...Appearance...same old skirts, sweaters, and maryjanes with knee socks and leggings....I got my hair cut into this style...love her look...I did have to cut some off the length-sniff, but it was so damaged anyway...I love it...and finally found the glasses I'm wanting in town with a price tag I can afford...funny, though, it's already time for a new eye check-up...my eyes are not so great...I noticed last week that I can't see the people at the pulpit or the hymn numbers on the wall just as it was before I started using glasses...
Scripture Meditations...."I will praise thee, O Lord, with my whole heart; I will shew forth all they marvelous works. I will be glad and rejoice in thee: I will sing praise to thy name O thou most High." Psalms 9:1-2 My desk is positioned so I can see out the window. This week I was treated to a show of storm and light. Right now there is a blanket of pure white snow on my lawn that is as lovely sight as the blue skies of a few days ago. God made these beauties for my enjoyment to feed my soul...
Sound of Music...still working on  This is My Father's World, singing, violin, and piano...violin-memorized, piano-almost there, voice-words not coming as quickly as I would like...enjoying every minute of it and marvel at the blessing of time and resource that allow this pursuit...glad I added music to my morning meditations...

Natural World...when the sun peaked out briefly yesterday, the robins came out of hiding to grace me with their song, such as it is...
Towards a Real Education...reading Our Native Trees...re-reading many portions of The Original Homeschooling Series, which I read as soon as they were published in 1993 and have read again and again, in preparation for my lectures in May...it seems that I may be speaking at a second conference...Charlotte Mason influenced heavily how I ran my school and disciplined my younger children.
Simple Pleasure...Guchi, my little shadow...
Garden Gate..got some leek seeds to start this coming week...
Bee Buzz...one hive is ominously quiet....

Cottage Dispensary...luckily I left my little black bag (well, it's green) up in Seattle. Joseph came down with a quick moving nasty virus that seemed to be heading into pneumonia, when he asked for help. I was able to give directions for the use of x-ceptic, lung and bronchial formula, and respiratory message oil. He's doing much better after a couple of hard nights and will be back at work on Monday...gotta up my intake of carrot juice and begin herbal eye bright for my weakening eyes...

What's Coming...a little uncertain what our car situation will be now...

Reading the scriptures and keeping this journal are my delight. I do not keep an online journal to preach to anyone but myself. I like this format, because I can add pictures and correct my writing easier. If you enjoy reading it, I am happy. If you feel offended, please, realize it is not my intention to offend but to teach myself. No negative comments will not be published.
