Paradigm Shift

“The list of health problems I think it would very hard to live with is SO much longer than the list of foods I previously thought I couldn’t live without,” Merrill Alley.

He wants

Nikki and Rohn's wedding was wonderful. It was nice to have so much family there. I may post some pictures soon. At the last minute her photographer bailed, but Joseph has a client that helped out. It was also nice that this event wasn't a funeral.

This has been quite a year. Just about this time last year, we brought Joseph's parents to our place and then onto Phoenix. They both died before summer arrived. We had a further disappointment with Spencer and his mission. With all the stress and hard physical work, I've struggled with my health, too. Last November I felt great. Since then things have been a roller coaster. Hopefully, I'm on the upside of all this and can count on no more health crisis times. I think the only thing that has kept me from following in the footsteps of my in-laws was my very healthy eating and herculean attempts to remain positive.

However, I remain a bit leery of making decisions and plans. It seems when I do, they are always foiled; something terrible happens. Probably, this is a lesson from Heavenly Father that I need to let go and let Him lead. I need to have faith, seek to discover His will, and go where He wants me to go, say what He wants me to say, be what He wants me to be.

One other great happening this trip was seeing the new Gig Harbor office/home. Right now it's tiny and not a place we can live yet. Oh, we might pull it off with a bit of juggling and ingenuity, if it's just the two of us. Nevertheless, I'm not ready to give Spencer the boot, since I think it is a good thing for young people to live at home until they are comfortable going off on their own. But if it is THE place, it has a lovely sunny 1/2 acre or so to plant my dream garden sans citrus and avocado. Berries, fruits, all fruit trees, and nearly all sorts of garden truck grow like a dream in this mild, moist, maritime, micro-climate. Working in the soil, my spirit is always buoyed. Joseph always says, I have farmer in my blood. This may be true, considering my family history.

Reading the scriptures and keeping this journal are my delight. I do not keep an online journal to preach to anyone but myself. I like this format, because I can add pictures and correct my writing easier. If you enjoy reading it, I am happy. If you feel offended, please, realize it is not my intention to offend but to teach myself. No negative comments will not be published.
