This is even better if you read the whole speech. Elder Uchtdorf is a powerful speaker and an apostle of the Lord. He always makes sill airplane analogies about the gospel that somehow make his points crystal clear. Aligning our priorities with our available time, we find joy in this life.
Several years ago, I made a distinct decision to just say no to overload, to pull back, to focus on my priorities, to streamline my stuff, and to eliminate fun but unnecessary activities. For the most part, I have not missed what didn't really matter at all. My relationships with God, with my husband, with my children (and now grandchildren), with my parents, with myself, with my friends (even those I haven't met yet) and with extended family are more important than stuff. Since I found I must choose and my time and energy are finite, I choose relationships. Most often I feel joyful and serene.
Recently, I've been reading a book along the same line, The Joys of Living by O. Marden. This idea of sticking with the right priorities, slowing down, and choosing joy are priceless advice.

Reading the scriptures and keeping this journal are my delight. I do not keep an online journal to preach to anyone but myself. I like this format, because I can add pictures and correct my writing easier. If you enjoy reading it, I am happy. If you feel offended, please, realize it is not my intention to offend but to teach myself. No negative comments will not be published.
