seek this Jesus

"And now, I would commend you to seek this Jesus of whom the prophets and apostles have written, that the grace of God the Father, and also the Lord Jesus Christ, and the Holy Ghost, which beareth record of them, may be and abide in you forever. Amen." Ether 12:41

"And now, my son, I have told you this that ye may learn wisdom, that ye may learn of me that there is no other way or means whereby man can be saved, only in and through Christ. Behold, he is the life and the light of the world. Behold, he is the word of truth and righteousness." Alma 38:9

So how do we seek Jesus? After being directed toward several articles on the subject, I'd like to offer a succinct list of ideas. Nevertheless, no list can begin to explain what will be encountered on a spiritual journey. We can only prepare to enjoy the ride. We can only arrive by gaining experiences along the journey.

1. We must desire to know Jesus and know if He is real and true.
2. We must attempt to humble and focus ourselves upon the goal.
3. We must strive to accept grace, repentance, and His walk into our everyday lives.
4. We must seek understanding, knowledge, and wisdom so that we might develop our gifts to build His kingdom.
6. We must strive to become pure and remain spotless from worldly influences.
7. We must learn His word and His gospel, be baptized, and receive the Holy Ghost by those with proper authority.
8. We must remember that we are literally spiritual sons and daughters of God and heir to all He possesses and His characteristics. Contradicting this idea, Satan introduces feelings of despair, sadness, depression, and so on. We are commanded to have joy and to strive to build godly characters, even when life is hard
9. We must stay on the path leading to Jesus-praying, fasting, repenting, making and keeping sacred covenants, studying His words, and worshiping Him at church and in His temple.
10. We must develop faith and accept His Atonement.
11. We must lean upon Him, follow Him, and love Him.
12. We must hearken to His voice and heed His promptings, which manifest through the Holy Ghost.
13. We must share His good news and serve others.
14. We must develop charity, His pure love, towards all mankind.

It seems like such a lot of things and so complicated, but actually it is a delightful journey. It's a much happier journey than the one I traveled before I found Him.
