"Beam-ectomy should precede all mote micro-surgery. Just saying." Ginger Conrad paraphrasing Jesus Christ.

Paradigm Shift

“The list of health problems I think it would very hard to live with is SO much longer than the list of foods I previously thought I couldn’t live without,” Merrill Alley.

watchful and joyful

Sunday School Lesson...Through his writings, I picture Peter as a gentle man. 1 Peter 1; 2:1–10. We are a chosen generation that must have faith and live in holiness. While that seems like a tall order, it is something we may accomplish if we learn to see people through the eyes of God, 'laying aside all malice, and all guile, and hypocrisies, and envies, and all evil speakings.' 1 Peter 2:19–24; 3:13–17; 4:12–19. Enduring trials and persecution gracefully, we take upon ourselves the character of Christ. '...when he was reviled, reviled not again...' 2 Peter 1. We are promised we can develop a Christ-like character or divine nature: faith, virtue, knowledge, diligence, temperance, patience, godliness, brotherly kindness, and charity. These are the fruits of a successful life. 2 Peter 2–3; Jude. Jude joins Peter to warn us against false teachers and those who deny the Second Coming. If we remain faithful, watchful, and repentant, we will do well.

Praying For...strength and endurance...Gayle and Nikki...a righteous man to come forward in the upcoming elections, who isn't interested in power but in upholding the laws of Nature and of Nature's God.

Sound of Music...playing hymns opens a window to heaven I never knew existed...

Bibliophilia...I preparation for the elections next year, I decided to reread all of Richard Maybury's books and many of the ones he recommends on the history and politics of economics and law. I love how he boils the whole of down to 17 words. "Do all you have agreed to do. Do not encroach on other persons or their property."  Even though it is enlightening to revisit these topics, it is also a bit depressing. Every politician wants to force people into their perfect mold and take money from hard working individuals for their pet projects. Is there someone brave enough to step forward and uphold the Declaration, Constitution, and Bill of Rights????? Plus, I'm reading more about temporal preparedness and self-sufficiency, because it is my church calling.

Thimble News... finished the cutest apron just in time for Tie One On Day this Wednesday.

The Herbalist...S came down with something or other. He decided to wait a couple days to see if it would be bad enough for x-ceptic. Yah...it got bad. When he consented, he drank several cups for three days along with quantities of yarrow, peppermint, elderberry, red raspberry leaf, red clover tea, cinnamon. While his friends were going to the Dr, S rested and drank his teas. While they are still sick on their 10-day antibiotic courses and are expecting Dr bills in the mail, he feels fine and is out nothing monetarily. The herbs were right in our cabinet some of which we grew ourselves. Distilled water is making a great difference for me right now. It is empowering to be one's own doctor.

Garden Gate...I didn't buy any greens this week, because I'm up to my eye-balls in sprouts and micro-greens. What a happy dilemma!

Cuchina Fresca...Dehydrating fruits and greens below 110F. Why? I'm working on my 5-day meal box. Although we like and sometimes eat hot whole grains for breakfast, I need my greens to be happy. All the other powdered green drinks out there contain wheat and barley grass, which is a no-no for me. Plus, I can't be sure they were dehydrated at a low temp. Dehydrating thusly preserves enzymes and nutrition. In effect it is still a live food if dehydrated under 110F. So I'm dehydrating ingredients for my own super food. Did you know 1 lb. greens makes 1 c. powdered greens. My fruits aren't quite done yet, so I don't know the volume yield. No, it won't taste as good as fresh, but nutritionally speaking it will be only slightly less stellar than an actual green smoothie. I'd like to learn how to grow spiralina for the same purpose.

Pantry...getting this 5-day meal box together is so much more exciting than the silly 72-hour kits in a milk carton. When I actually looked at what they call enough food for a day, I realized it would be barely enough for one meal. And the food they suggest is vile. Maybe nobody will want my ideas. That's fine. I'll still show them how to make the alternative. However, for anyone that gets frantic over hunger like me, the meal box seems so much more comforting. No going hungry there.

Project Joy...Joseph is HOME!!!!! After being quoted $125 for a new truck hub cap, J decided to ask a  body shop to fix the old one. They fixed it gratis. All these tender mercies are humbling.
