"Good understanding giveth favor..." Proverbs 13:15.
"The heart of the prudent getteth knowledge; and the ear of the wise seeketh knowledge," Proverbs 18:15.
"For the Lord giveth wisdom : out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding," Proverbs 2:6
"Through wisdom is an house builded; and by understanding it is established: And by knowledge shall the chambers be filled with all precious and pleasant riches." Proverbs 24:3-4
I always wonder when someone is in the news for some horrendous crime, how did they get to a point that they could do this? What is the back story? Everyone has a backstory that explains attitudes and oddities. That includes our family members. What better thing to gain understanding about than a person's family? 'Interests' and hobbies are taken seriously and studied in depth, but we don't take time to get to know our loved ones.
